Finishing Kilimanjaro 1/2 marathon

Hi!

We know I’ve always loved running, and usually train with groups across the world. This year, I decided to run with Team World Vision for the first time to help provide life-changing clean water to children and communities in the developing world. Such an amazing cause! Since moving to Chicago recently, being part of World Vision is an incredible group that motivates and educates.

Having lived for many years in the developing countries of Malaysia & Tanzania while raising children there, the water issue is one I’ve seen firsthand. It’s something Americans take for granted, and tragically a way of life for many. Our family was fortunate to have intricate water systems in place while living abroad to ensure our water was filtered and safe. This luxury was never lost on us, and I still think about it often when I turn on the tap, never worried it's not clean enough to drink or water won't come out. Water shortages were common for us in Tanzania, and boy in that heat did you need it!

More than 800 children under age 5 die every day from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, and improper hygiene. World Vision  believes the global water and sanitation crisis can be solved within our lifetimes.

$50 = clean water for 1 person

Will you invest in the future and provide clean water for 1, 2, 3, or even more people?

Will update you as I train and get closer to my goal of not only finishing but making change with your help.

Thank you/ Xie xie/ Asante Sana/ Terima kasih,

Janelle
