2024 Kilimanjaro Vision Trip

Here's everything you need to know for this epic adventure!

You'll walk away changed and you'll change lives in the process.

The Vision Trip

Join Team World Vision as we adventure together to Africa on a two-week trip to climb Mount Kilimanjaro! After the climb, we'll take an incredible vision trip to see World Vision's clean water projects and community development programs in East Africa, and we'll also spend time with sponsored children and their families.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is no small feat; it’s Africa’s highest pinnacle and it’s also the highest free-standing mountain in the world, sitting at 19,341 feet (5,895 m). Our team will start our way up Mount Kilimanjaro at the end of June to go on a six-day climb, ascending the mountain from the north side via the Rongai route. This route retains a sense of untouched wilderness as its starting point is just south of the Kenya-Tanzania border. There are magnificent views to behold as you approach the summit—close to the heavens. The top of Kilimanjaro provides spectacular views of the never-ending Serengeti plains.

Reaching the summit is just part one of this epic two-week trip. After the climb, we ascend the mountain and split into two teams to make a trip to experience World Vision’s work and impact.

[1] Either hiking outside on trails up and down hills, or climbing up and down stairs for the allotted time. If neither is an option, the Stairmaster/Stepmill at the gym is a great alternative option. If you’re using a Stairmaster/Stepmill, we recommend using it on a level between a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 9 (roughly 3-5 floors/minute)
